The Shift Leader has full responsibility of the successful technical accomplishment of projects assigned to his bay. He / She must lead the assigned team in the bay to achieve targets defined by the project plan/milestone tracker. He/She reports to the Bay Manager.
The Shift Leader must supervise assigned employees and support the team in finding technical solutions for issues encountered during accomplishment of the ground time. It is the responsibility of the Shift Leader to coordinate with support shops leaders for the successful accomplishment of the ground time in relation the project plan/milestone tracker.
The Shift Leader should technically coordinate with external approved sub-contractors to request any support for checks under his/her supervision and highlight to the Bay Manager any issues that could hinder check progress. The Shift Leader should action any deviations to the project plan/milestone tracker and address them in a timely manner with the scope to recover ground time.
The Shift Leader should be involved in the accomplishment of any recovery plan and provide technical input from his side.
The Shift Leader will have to investigate safety, quality reported issues and analyse all KPIs deviations linked to the assigned project, aircraft maintenance check.
Main Tasks
- To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated / promoted and implemented within the Organization.
- To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained, and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual.
- Lead assigned team as per Bay Manager advice (resources).
- On daily basis:
- Dispatch available resources to achieve milestone’s plan targets.
- Review project KPIs and take necessary corrective actions (if needed).
- Review completion of checklists (Shift Leader, Sections) and take corrective actions if needed.
- Perform 5S walk through each section and in the assigned office.
- Perform quality spot checks on removed parts (tagging, storage, protection) and current work.
- Review Matrix system and ensure on time update.
- Provide clear status of whole aircraft maintenance check to the Bay Manager. Highlight any issue related to but no limited to safety, quality, resources, parts, check progress.
- Lead Level 1 meeting(s), Participate to Level 2 meeting and update project board (as per requirement).
- Assist the Bay Manager during customer meeting (if needed).
- Update handover forms as per internal procedure.
- Perform “Compliance Standards Checklist” on work being performed at least 1 time per week.
- Prepare and provide the Daily Ground Time Reports (DGR).
- Completion of CRS at the end of the Maintenance check.
- Manage Vacation Leaves and short-term absence (BH) for the ongoing maintenance check.
- Execute any other task commensurate with the role.
Position Key Requirements and Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Part 145 Base Maintenance Organisation.
- Be eligible for a C-Certifying authorisation according to easyJet Engineering Quality Management system.
- Good Communication skills. Fluency in English language.
- Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA Part 145, Part 147, Part 66, Part 21, Part M).
- Excellent Leadership skills.
- A can-do attitude.
