Job Description

The Commercial and Controlling Executive is responsible for liaising directly with stakeholders to formalize process of updating & maintaining accurate project progress tracking labour hours and project spend /expenditures, he/she is responsible to set up and daily check the accounting tree and correct any issues during the ground time based on the conditions and requirements defined from an agreement point of view. 

He/she contributes to the Approved Budget adherence, supports a well-structured collection and discussion of shortfalls along the relevant Maintenance activities and contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes and tasks, standards and procedures (Post-mortem process). He/she is responsible to ensure that Invoicing is possible of Maintenance Activities at the end of any event. 

Main Tasks

  • To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization
  • To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Maintenance/Project program/s, where relevant, and ensure Program & Project budget is at all times monitored and communicated.
  • Handover and contract flow down and execution (operational and financial performance to plan) of all contracts for assigned customers. (Only where relevant). 
  • Ensure clear communication link from assigned customer to Operations and other areas of easyJet Engineering Malta to ensure the single point of contact, where relevant and report accordingly.
  • Manage issues, database and ensure completion, updating and escalating as required. 
  • Assure correct set-up of the assigned programs/projects in the ERP system (SAP).
  • Customer and budget target reviews where required and supported by the Commercial & Controlling Management team to analyze risks and opportunities and to define appropriate actions to improve/sustain the targeted performance level.
  • Monitoring the Invoicing to secure revenues and to initiate / monitor the value flow.
  • Assure continuous improvements supporting relevant BU’s during maintenance program execution and after program execution, support the postmortem analysis and definition of appropriate actions and measures in cooperation with involved parties and assure implementation. 
  • Supporting risk identification and management
  • Preparation of operating expenditure analysis at portfolio and divisional level, drawing areas of concern to the attention of his Manager and or the Accountable Manager and or Deputy.
  • Assistance with project audits where relevant. 
  • Ad hoc duties and general support where needed. 
  • Create the project in the AWR tool and create Over & Above hours for all tasks during ground time (man hours and material)
  • Implement SAP data into AWR tool and correct if necessary.
  • Verify and correct accounting tree in SAP according to contract / work package revisions during ground time
  • Monitor man hours and material in SAP during and end of ground time.
  • Investigate significant deviations in the budget against actual hours booked and provide clear reason for deviation.
  • Engage in any other duties and / or projects as may be assigned from time to time.

 Position Key Requirements and Competencies

  • Experience in Aviation Maintenance Methodology or similar industry with business acumen and commercial management.
  • Successful delivering projects in time and on agreed budget 
  • Be able to multi-task and work under pressure. 
  • Be computer literate in MS-office applications.  
  • Be able to communicate well in English. 
  • Be a good team player.
