Overview

The Compliance Monitoring Manager reports directly to, and deputises for, the Safety and Compliance Monitoring Manager and is responsible for the development of an effectiveness Compliance Monitoring System to ensure compliance with the applicable requirements, policies, and procedures, and to request action where non-compliances are identified. 

The Compliance Monitoring Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the compliance monitoring programme is continually reviewed and improved.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization

• To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual;

• The Compliance Monitoring Manager will support, and deputise for, the Safety and Compliance Monitoring Manager who is the Nominated Person approved by the authorities TM-CAD and the UK CAA, to manage the Safety and Compliance Monitoring System.

• Ensuring that the compliance monitoring audit schedule is implemented by carrying out audits and spot checks, Maintained and Continually reviewed and improved.

• Continuous monitoring of all EASA and the UK CAA regulations issued for new publications/changes that may affect easyJet Engineering Malta.

• Supports the business unit in the implementation of a close loop process for compliance monitoring related findings (audits, occurrences) in developing action plans from findings.

• Supports continuous improvement process with the main focus on aircraft maintenance aiming for reduction in cost of poor quality (CoPQ) and process/procedure improvements;

• Ensuring the independence of the auditing activities is observed.

• Assist the Safety and Compliance Monitoring Manager in the preparation of bi-weekly, quarterly and SAG meetings and be actively engaged in SMS related activities.

• Ensuring that non-compliances are identified, root causes analysed, and the appropriate corrective/preventative actions are challenged, established, implemented and periodically reviewed.

• Liaises with the group, authorities, suppliers and all Business Units with the main focus on aircraft maintenance on safety and compliance monitoring matters;

• Statistically analyses and reports findings to show areas of concentrated non conformances and concerns;

• Tracks the progress of essential compliance monitoring and safety criteria and ensure on-going communication with the Bay Managers for compliance monitoring and safety issues in their areas;

• Escalates shortfalls and deviations at earliest possible stage;

• Challenges and follows up on corrective actions closed (effectiveness and risk reduction);

• Assists in the implementation of SMS and continuous development of a positive safety culture within all employees at easyJet Engineering Malta.

• Supports and facilitates compliance monitoring related training needs within easyJet Engineering Malta;

• Engages in compliance monitoring and safety audits and oversights of contractors and sub-contractors.

• Engages in the coordination of stamps and supports the Training Manager and Training Co-ordinators in the issuing of company authorization and permissions;

• Engage in any other task commensurate with the role.

Educational Qualifications, Experience and Personal Skills

Educational Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA Part 145, Part 147, Part 66, Part 21, Part M, 14 CFR 145) or equivalent.

• Preferably possession of B1/B2/C AML.

Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the aviation maintenance industry.

• Auditor experience in a Part-145 organisation.
