As a Continuous Improvement Specialist within the facility, the position holder plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and enhancing the Company’s service delivery model. The primary focus will be to implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational processes, aiming to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality and safety standards. By harnessing lean management and Six Sigma methodologies, the Continuous Improvement Engineer will foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the Company’s operations remain competitive and exceed customer expectations.
Main Tasks
- To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization
- Develop and deploy a company-wide continuous improvement program focusing on process improvement, standardization, cycle-time/TAT reduction, cost, productivity, product quality and employee safety.
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using lean management, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
- Conduct regular Gemba walks and process confirmations to identify areas for improvement within operational and administrative domains.
- Collaborate with and supervise cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements and best practices.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring timely completion and achievement of set objectives.
- Train and mentor staff in continuous improvement techniques and philosophies.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process improvements and operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative ideas and solutions from all employees.
- Coordinate with senior management to align continuous improvement strategies with organisational goals.
- Prepare and present reports on improvement initiatives and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, incorporating quality management and safety practices into process improvements.
- Administer all process mapping improvements and ensure on time implementation by closely coordinating with the relevant owner in close cooperation with the Quality organisation of EasyJet engineering Malta;
- Monitor housekeeping and provide feedback to the relevant affected area.
- Carry out any other associated duties which may be required from time to time.
Qualifying criteria:
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline considered an asset.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Working experience within an Aviation organisation.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience leading and implementing successful continuous process improvement related tasks and projects.
Required Skills and Competencies considered advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of lean management, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management abilities.
- Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.

- Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
- Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and standards considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
